Overview

What we're building.

We’re turning the historic Grade II listed Guildhall on Small Street, Bristol, into a luxury boutique hotel with 75 individually-designed bedrooms, a destination restaurant, the exclusive Copper rooftop bar with panoramic city views and the underground Gilt lounge.

Originally built in 1843, by architect Richard Shackleton Pope, who designed around 50 public buildings and private homes in 19th-century Bristol, the Guildhall stood empty when CDP took it on.

Having undergone a series of alterations between the 1940s and 1960s, and suffering a fire in 2020, the building requires significant remediation to bring it up to modern standards, a challenge met by MCWY and Joinery.
